Slow Cooker Shredded Beef Chili – RecipeTin Eats

Beef chilli slow cooker recipe

Slow Cooker Shredded Beef Chili is my signature Chili recipe made with shredded meat! With deeper and even more complex flavors than the classic Chilli Con Carne, the meat is slowly cooked in a rich, highly seasoned sauce until it melts tenderly, then gently separated before being thrown back into the sauce.

Do this in your slow cooker – or pressure cooker, stove or oven. Instructions provided for everyone!

As far as I know, the title of the best chili in the world still meets the Ben’s Chili Bowl original in Washington DC. It is an institution, with a deteriorated charm. The kind of place where you have to fight for a table and shout to place your order.

Give me that any day about the quiet silence of good food!

Visiting Ben’s was the catalyst for my mission to make my own chili con carne. I didn’t even try to replicate Ben’s because I know it’s not possible. It would be like trying to crack the KFC code! (Which I’ve tried)

So this, my friends, is my signature chili. A shredded beef chili. The same rich, complex and highly seasoned flavor in the sauce as the classic chili, with shredded juicy meat!

The effort vs the production of this Chili Con Carne is out of series!

What you need

Here’s what you need for shredded beef

chili.

No chili powder?

That’s right, he says firmly. Chili powder, as you know it in the United States, is actually a spice blend made with spices including ground chili, cumin, and oregano. In addition to not being available outside the United States, Chili Powder flavor varies from brand to brand. Since it’s made from basic spices, it’s much better to make your own, which is what we do here: a more consistent flavor!

What goes in Shredded Beef Chilli Con Carne

How-to

And here’s how to do it in the slow cooker

.

The key step is to brown the meat very well. Color = flavor, not only in the meat, but also in the sauce because all the golden pieces left in the pan after browning the meat dissolve in liquid and add extra flavor to the sauce.

That said, however, there have been times when I’ve skipped the browning (only in emergencies!). Then this literally becomes a dump, set up and forget the 10-minute preparation work!

shredded

beef chili As with “normal” chili made with ground/minced beef, place it in bowls and then serve something aside for dipping!

Corn chips –

  • my favorite

  • !

  • Cornbread – muffins or made in a pan (cut into pieces)

  • With tortillas, rolls or similar

  • About rice

  • Stuffed in baked potatoes!

In

my world, Chili is as much about the ingredients as it is about the wetting part.

Non-negotiable are:

  • Grated cheese

  • Sour cream

  • Coriander leaves/coriander

Highly desirable include:

  • Diced avocado or guacamole (I’ll possibly move this up under non-negotiable

  • )

  • Lime wedges (a little squeeze can do wonders)

  • Jalapeño, finely chopped – very much on topic, plus heat

extra fresh That’s all from me! In the recipe. 🙂 Just leave a comment below if you have any questions and I’ll be sure to answer them! – Nagi x
