Guys, I’m super dizzy to share these honey buffalo ribs with you, I might even prefer them to my slow cooker BBQ ribs, which is no small feat. If you’re a fan of my slow cooker BBQ ribs (with tons of RAVE reviews), then you know how good they are and you know how easy slow cooker ribs are, but these buffalo ribs with honey are even simpler because you don’t have to turn on the stove for the sauce! If you’ve never made ribs, or you’ve never made them in the slow cooker, get ready for your mind to fly with this easy method for wet ribs, literally drooping from the bone, every time.
These honey buffalo ribs
are a cross between the sauce of my popular slow cooker honey buffalo dumplings and the method of my most popular slow cooker barbecue ribs. And when you combine two powerful recipes, you get one of the best recipes coming out of my kitchen. No kidding.
These tender ribs are so madly good because they are first smeared on the most amazing rub and then covered with the most amazing sweet heat honey buffalo sauce to create layers of multi-dimensional flavor. Spice Rub is an aromatic blend of paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, dried thyme, salt and pepper. The rubbing may seem like a lot, but it’s not overwhelming by any means. Simply overwhelming perfection.
After rubbing the ribs, bake them for 15 minutes on each side to seal the juices and get some fat. In the meantime, beat your heady honey buffalo sauce that is spicy, sweet and spicy and simply delicious to lick your ribs. It is a simple mixture of Franks BUFFALO WINGS sauce (not its original, there is a big difference), honey, apricot preserves, brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard and cornstarch. I think this buffalo sauce with honey is not too sweet or too spicy, but it should be perfect for everyone. If you want more heat, you can add more buffalo sauce to your own slice to dip or you can add more hot sauce to the reserved honey buffalo sauce that you spread after cooking.
Let the ribs
sail at low temperature for 7-9 hours or high for 4-5 hours or until they fall apart tender, turning the ribs once while cooking so that they cook evenly, otherwise the lower ribs will be more tender than the top. If the ribs do not fall apart tender, they simply need a little more cooking time.
Once the ribs are crumbling, and they will crumble, suffocate with some reserved honey buffalo sauce and eat its juicy, tender and addictive perfection.
One culinary touchdown at a time.
