  • , not a pork loin. A pork loin is long and thin, while a pork loin is larger and would take much longer to cook.
  • Brown sugar: I like to add a small amount of brown sugar to spice rubbing because it helps caramelize the seasonings on the outside of the pork while cooking. Brown sugar adds just a touch of sweetness, but you can skip it if you prefer a sugar-free recipe.
  • Spice Rub: I used a variation of my favorite Pork Rub to season this air fryer pork loin. It is a mixture of paprika, chili powder, dried thyme, garlic powder, salt, pepper and brown sugar. It adds a lot of delicious flavor! Chili powder adds a touch of flavor, but it doesn’t make pork really spicy.

Recipe tips

  • Before seasoning pork loin, use a small, sharp knife to remove the silvery skin. Silver skin is a thin membrane on one side of pork that becomes hard after cooking and is not pleasant to eat.
  • Preheat the air fryer. In this way, the pork will begin to cook as soon as it reaches the hot basket.
  • Turn the pork loin past half the cooking time. This helps the meat cook evenly and promotes uniform browning on all sides.
  • The cooking time will depend on the size and thickness of your pork loin. Pork loin will normally take between 18 and 26 minutes in total to cook in the air fryer. The best way to know when it’s done is to check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. According to the USDA, whole cuts of pork are safe to consume when cooked to 145°F and then left to sit for at least 3 minutes before serving.
  • Try not to overcook pork, as overcooking can dry out the meat.
  • Be sure to let the pork stand for 5 minutes before serving. This rest time allows the internal temperature of the pork to increase a few degrees more. It also allows juices to be redistributed throughout the meat.
