This

buffalo chicken sauce recipe was actually my first slow cooking experience. Growing up, my mother never used one, so I never used one. But now, I love using mine.

This easy buffalo chicken sauce recipe gets rave reviews every time I take it to a party and they always ask me for the recipe, some even refer to it as “crack sauce” because it’s addictive. Luckily, I have this blog to point people out the ingredients of slow-cooking buffalo chicken sauce 😉

There are only five everyday ingredients in this recipe, which makes it super easy. Scroll down to see the complete prescription card with measurements.

  • Cooked and shredded chicken – I like to season and then boil boneless, skinless chicken breasts when I make this recipe. You can also crush a roast chicken. Or, I guess you could use canned chicken, but please don’t. It disgusts me haha
  • Cream cheese – Cube a brick of cream cheese
  • .

  • Ranch Dressing – Hidden Valley is the brand I usually have on hand. Use your favorite.
  • Frank’s Wing Sauce – Be sure to drink wing sauce and not regular hot sauce.
  • Cheddar Cheese – Shredded cheddar cheese, whether you crush it yourself or buy a bag of pre-crushed cheese. I usually use soft Cheddar.

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Dip in the Slow Cooker

STEP ONE: First, if you need to cook your chicken, I like to season with salt and pepper and seasoned salt and then boil it in water or chicken broth for 10 minutes to a quick boil. Then remove and trim, either with forks, or throw it into your stand-up mixer with the paddle attachment to make things really easy. Alternatively, you can make shredded chicken in instant pot.

If you have precooked chicken (like a roast chicken), just crumble it.

STEP TWO: Then, add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and cook in HIGH for about an hour, stirring after 30 minutes.

STEP THREE: Stir and then turn the heat to LOW or HOT while serving.

That’s all! It’s that easy.

Can I do it in the oven?

Yes, if you don’t want to use the slow cooker, you can have the buffalo chicken sauce dipped in the stove or baked in the oven. Either way, you’re just melting the ingredients.

If baking in the oven, cover with a layer of cheese and bake at 350° for about 20-30 minutes.
