The goal of this game is to make it easier for children to describe what they smell and match it with the correct image.

where do odors come from?

The nose is the only organ that has direct access to the brain. in fact, it’s so close to the brain that it’s directly connected to it.

The sense of smell is one of our most powerful senses. it can evoke memories and emotions when an odor is detected. some smells can even make us salivate or experience an increased heart rate.

Odors are made up of chemicals called odorants that are detected by olfactory receptors in the mucous membranes lining the nasal cavity. when an odor interacts with these receptors, a nerve impulse is sent to the brain where it is interpreted as a specific odor.

  1. sweat
  2. tears
  3. odors from our skin and breath
  4. bacteria and fungus on our feet (and in our shoes)
